La Provvidenza is a youth community center located in Pergine Valsugana, renovated and extended according to the Passivhaus standard in 2015. The client is the Parish of Pergine Valsugana which, through Don Remo, proposed to the community in 2009 the redevelopment of the building. It is precisely from the client’s request, driven by a strong sensitivity to environmental sustainability and the conscious use of resources, that the entire project and the idea of redeveloping it according to high energy standards were born. The building, now at the end of its life cycle, dates back to the 1920s and has long served as a gathering and meeting place for social groups and cultural associations in Pergine. Don Remo’s request was clear: to transform the building into something innovative and, above all, environmentally respectful. In response, the designers proposed to redevelop the building according to the Passivhaus standard, a proposal that was welcomed positively and with great openness by the client.

YED 2024 | The role of windows and doors in Passive Houses

Windows and sustainability: our journey at YED 2024

Our story from the fair, among cutting-edge windows and Passivhaus insights

VICENZA, YED 2024, April 12

We have been back for a few days from the YED 2024 fair in Vicenza, the leading Italian event dedicated to the world of windows and doors, and we can’t wait to share our experience with you! First of all, however, we would like to thank Colfert for their impeccable organization: it is not at all a given that an event of this kind can be so accessible and enjoyable!

Overall, the event recorded 7,000 attendees over three days, with participants coming from 19 Italian regions: numbers that clearly indicate a strong and widespread response from industry professionals.

During the event, our scientific director, Dr. Francesco Nesi, was invited to give a talk on the essential role of windows in passive house architecture. The context certainly supported the dissemination, as YED truly highlighted the importance of sustainable innovation, bringing together companies from all over Italy that stand out for their commitment to efficiency and technological innovation.

The atmosphere of the fair was lively from the very beginning, with cutting-edge windows, characterized by a level of quality rarely found in more traditional and general trade fairs. The care with which YED selected its participants was evident, fully achieving the goal of offering something truly special and targeted for all professionals involved in sustainability.

“It had been years since we had seen a trade fair of this sector at such a high level, both in terms of organization and technical offering,” commented our scientific director – “We noticed great interest from participants; the next step will be to establish an even closer and more concrete collaboration with Colfert, a true reference point in the window and door sector.”

We would certainly like to recommend attending future editions of YED to colleagues and all experts in energy-efficient buildings, to stay up to date with current innovations in the window sector, within a stimulating and informal environment.

Thank you YED for what was organized this year, and see you soon!
